In 2020 I entered the world of organ transplants when my 29-year-old daughter, Anne, an attorney in NYC, went to the emergency department and was told that she needed a kidney transplant.  We still don’t know what caused her renal failure.  My 27-year-old daughter, Erin, who was in her first year of medical residency, volunteered to donate her kidney to the “swap” program at the Cleveland Clinic so that Anne could receive a kidney ASAP.  Thus, Anne’s organ transplant journey began — a journey she still navigates daily.  But we are so grateful that she received the gift of life from her sister and other selfless donors. When I was asked to be a dancer for this most worthwhile cause, I found it hard to say no after all that my daughters have gone through for each other.  Although I have never danced in my life, I decided to accept the challenge for my daughters and the many others who face far more difficult challenges when donating and receiving an organ. They are the real stars of this show.
