Jody is a clinical psychologist with the Transplant Institute at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. She discovered her love of transplant while on her psychology residency at the University of North Carolina, and she joined the UNC transplant program after finishing her training. She works with patients needing liver, kidney, pancreas, heart, and lung transplants, both before and after the surgery, and also participates in the assessment of living donors. After leaving UNC, she helped start a liver transplant program in Atlanta, and then joined the transplant program at the University of Iowa, where she worked until moving to Cleveland in early 2024.
Jody is originally from Des Moines, Iowa. She spent most of her growing up years with her family in Chattanooga, TN and then attended college and graduate schools in North Carolina, Virginia, and Alabama. She is a Midwesterner by birth and choice but has an undeniable southern love of Memphis dry rub ribs and SEC football. She was an avid outdoor cyclist in Iowa and has taken up sailing on Lake Erie since moving. She had the ultimate privilege in 2018 of being a living kidney donor to her cousin and is grateful every day for her good health and opportunities to live her best life.
