Celebration Bell Dedicated at Transplant House!

CELEBRATION BELL DEDICATED AT TRANSPLANT HOUSE!

As of Saturday, March 25 at 11am, LET IT RING!

Today we dedicated our “Donate Life Bell” in memory of Patrice Monroe-Warfield and in celebration of the gift of life given through organ donation. Thanks to the sisters of Gamma Phi Beta, Zeta Omicron Chapter and Candice Monroe, we now have a beautiful bell that will be rung by every Transplant House family that celebrates the gift of life. Listen for it University Circle in the days to come- our joy will be heard all through the neighborhood, as it was today.

Nearly thirty people gathered to remember the life of Patrice. Her family and friends were joined by Transplant House residents, volunteers, and the staff. All shared brunch, a lovely day, and the surprise of a neighborhood carillon in a brief ceremony of remembrance, thanksgiving, and hope.

Our great thanks to George Leggiero and Friends of the McGaffin Carillon in University Circle. George echoed our bell-ringing from the bell tower at Church of the Covenant, and played a gorgeous concert for us, too. Hear both bells here:

A Litany of Dedication was written and led by a resident of Transplant House.  It will be given to every family who rings the bell in days to come.  Special thanks to The Transplant House of Cleveland Young Professionals Group (Candice Monroe, Micah Sisson, Julie Waring and Kelly Doyle co-founders), to heart transplant social worker Kay Kendall, and The Rev. Sally Harbold for their contributions to the event.  We rejoice in the growth of our presence in University Circle and anticipate this bell will nuance that presence.
