Transplant House participates in Gift of Life Walk and Run

Transplant House of Cleveland joined its partner, Lifebanc, in celebrating organ donation during Lifebanc’s annual Gift of Life Walk and Run on Saturday, at Blossom Music Center.  “I am a lifelong runner and have participated in many races, but this is the only race that brings me to tears,” said Elaine Turley, Transplant House board member.  The legacy garden is a central feature before and after the race. where many find themselves amidst tears of awe.  Nestled in a lovely existing garden on the Blossom grounds, are displays of remembrance of loved ones who donated organs, and of lives saved because of others’ generosity.  The touching gift of life through organ donation was celebrated in many healthy and happy ways throughout the gorgeous morning (including a walker/runner warm-up exercise to the popular tune “Happy!”). Families participated in many activities, including visits to the tables of Transplant House of Cleveland and other area nonprofits connected to organ donation.

At the Transplant House table, we drew attention to ways to support our mission, including hands-on volunteer work, and responding to the $50,000 Challenge Grant awarded to us by Lifebanc!  For the next five years, Lifebanc will match the gifts of all of our NEW donors, up to $10,000 per year!  Don’t let Lifebanc’s generous offer of support go unrequested!  We only receive it if we match it!  Donate today – any amount- at www.transplanthouseofcleveland.org! Thank you!
