Transplant House of Cleveland

Transplant House of Cleveland is 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization with an important mission: to provide temporary, affordable housing in a home-like environment for organ transplant patients and their families while they visit Cleveland for medical care.

The Transplant House of Cleveland board is searching for a facility for renovation while simultaneously growing its base of friends and raising much-needed funding.

Please join us in this mission to create a cozy, welcoming home-away-from-home where transplant families can face medical challenges with the help and support of others.  You can make the difference in many lives by contributing financially, sharing your skills and connecting us to others who can help us open our doors.

Help this vision become a reality by making a financial contribution. Click Here to donate to a great cause. Thank You!

How Can You Help?

As we focus on a wonderful historical site, we need funds to renovate and furnish. Every bit helps!

Your financial gift can help in a variety of ways, including:

Undesignated Gifts:  Your gift will be used to “fill the gap” between what it costs to operate this home-away-from-home, and the contribution we ask our guests to make for their stay with us.  Actual costs are about $90 per night per apartment.  Guest contribution is typically $60 per night, sometimes less.

Family Assistance Fund:  Your gift designated to this fund will be applied to the stay of a family who cannot make the customary $60 per night contribution, maybe because their stay has extended for many weeks or months.  It may also help a short-term family who has lost employment or become inundated with medical expenses, and for whom a contribution to Transplant House is difficult or impossible.

Chair Lift:  Transplant House of Cleveland could more adequately welcome guests if there were chair lifts in the four stairwells.  Our 1920s-era row house building does not have an elevator.  We need about $9,500 per stairwell to install chair lifts.  Even some of our caregivers have difficulty climbing the 24 stairs to our second floor units, and also the 8 stairs to our first floor.

Raise the Roof!:  Your contribution to this campaign, which is part of our “A Second Dance at Life” gala scheduled for April 21, 2017, will help us increase our capacity to house more families.  Stay tuned for details about Transplant House’s expansion, and donate to the fund now!
